Home Sweet home

We are all settled at home and doing well.  Getting back into the routine of things, Luke went back to work and I have been with all three kids and enjoying every minute!  Camden is doing great with nursing and he is a good sleeper I would say.  Big sister Faith is such a good helper and big brother Ty brushes his hand across Camden's head to let him know he loves him.

Pneumothorax Information

Causes and symptoms

The symptoms of pneumothorax depend on how much air enters the chest, how much the lung has collapsed and a chest x-ray will show the air pocket.

Treatment

A small pneumothorax may resolve on it's own, but most require medical treatment.  The object of treatment is to remove the air from the chest and allow the lung to re-expand.

Camden Alexander Buchheit

Camden is a true blessing!  He was born @ 10:02 p.m. weighing 8 lbs, 22 inches long.  He was born with a small nemothorax that has advanced into a mild to moderate bilateral case now.  He is being kept in NICU on close watch but is now off the CPAP machine and is breathing well.  Hopefully tomorrow we will be able to try nursing because he acts hungry when we are holding him.  He has been held by mom & dad and is hoping to be able to go home on friday.

Photos of our new little man

Our little man is here!  He was born @ 10:02 p.m. and weighs 8 lbs.  His heartrate is a little down so they are taking precautions and he is in the NICU for a little while and is hooked up to oxygen and is being monitored.  He has good lungs the nurses say, and is crying so we are guessing he won't have to be in there for long.

We have a baby boy!

We worked very hard and he is healthy and crying! More details to come soon
